Dragons RFC have officially announced that fly-half Will Reed will be leaving the club at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The 23-year-old, who came through the Dragons Academy, has made 50 senior appearances since his debut in March 2022, amassing a total of 167 points during his time with the club.

In a heartfelt message to supporters, Reed said, “I firstly want to thank our fans for all the support they have always given me.

"The atmosphere at Rodney Parade will always be special to me, nothing beats playing there when it is bouncing.”

The young playmaker will be moving to England to join Worcester Warriors ahead of their return to competitive rugby in the Championship next season.

His move will reunite him with experienced Wales scrum-half Lloyd Williams as Worcester continues to strengthen its ranks with youthful talent and experienced guidance.

Dragons Head Coach Filo Tiatia praised Reed’s character and professionalism during his time at the club:

“I’ve really enjoyed working with Will this season. He’s a very good professional who conducts himself in the right way and works hard, on and off the field.

"As a product of our system, it’s been fantastic to see Will make over half a century of appearances for his club. We’re pleased he now has this new opportunity in England and Worcester are lucky to have him.”

Reflecting on his development and the bonds forged at Dragons, Reed added, “I came through the academy system and in the senior set-up with several players who will always remain the closest of friends.

"I want to wish the Dragons all the best for next season and beyond. I'll always remain a Dragon and supporter and look forward to coming back to show my support from the stands.”
