Worcester Warriors have confirmed the signing of New Zealand born lock Michael Fatialofa ahead of the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old made his professional rugby debut with Mitre10 Cup side Southland in 2011 while his Super Rugby debut came with Hurricanes in 2016. He started 14 out of the 15 games for Hurricanes in the 2016/17 season.

Fatialofa was also part of New Zealand Schools in 2010 and represented Barbarians during their 31-31 drawn game against South Africa at Wembley Stadium in November 2016.

Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons is delighted with the signing and is confident that he will be a boost to the club.

"Michael is an absolutely outstanding player," said Solomons.

"It's massive for the club to bring him here to Sixways."

Worcester Warriors are at the 11th position in the Aviva Premiership table after managing just five wins from 18 games.
