Worcester Warriors came up with a dominating first half performance as they steered to a 23-7 win over Pau in their European Rugby Challenge Cup face-off at Sixways Stadium on Saturday.

The Warriors now occupy the top place in Pool 2 with 13 points while Pau are positioned third with eight points.

The first points in the came came in the eighth minute when Ben Mowen crossed over in the eighth minute and Colin Slade converted it to take them to a seven point lead.

However, the home side took control of the game in the remainder of the first half with tries from Josh Adams and Alafoti Faosiliva in the 10th and 15th minutes respectively while Duncan Weir kicked two apiece of conversions and penalties as they headed into the break of of 20-7 lead.

Weir with another penalty goal after the break extended Worcester's lead as Pau failed to add to their points in the opening stage as they succumbed to a 23-7 defeat.

Pau will visit Stade Francais in the next round on 11th January while Worcester will lock horns with Ospreys a day later.
