Wasps rugby director Dai Young has urged his team to be wary of Gloucester Warriors ahead of their upcoming Aviva Premiership clash at Ricoh Arena.

A win on Saturday will help the Cherry and Whites register their sixth Premiership record - something they last achieved in 2003.

With Gloucester positioned second on the table behind the defending champions Exeter, Young lavished praise on their Aviva Premiership rivals and urged his team to be at their best to break into the top four.

"Gloucester have been excellent this season, and their defence is probably their biggest threat as their line-speed is outstanding," Young said.

"They close you down fast and force a lot of mistakes.

"A lot of the tries they've scored have come from turnovers generated by their defensive efforts, so we know we are going to have to be really good with the ball and can't push things too early.

"They are not where they are in the league by accident. They have played really well and they are a good side, and we will have to be at our best to beat them."

A fifth league win on the bounce for Wasps could take them second heading into Christmas, but Exeter are guaranteed to retain top spot whatever happens when the Chiefs tackle Northampton at Franklin's Gardens on Saturday.
