Gloucester Rugby have confirmed that a number of first-team and academy players will leave the club at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Cherry & Whites are preparing for squad changes ahead of next season, with several senior players and academy names set to depart Kingsholm.

Gloucester confirmed that Josh Basham, Jono Benz-Salomon, Hugh Bokenham, Will Butler, Nepo Laulala, Archie McArthur, Rob Russell and Tomos Williams will leave the club following the conclusion of the campaign.

The announcement comes as the club prepares to welcome new players into the first-team squad and a fresh academy intake for next season.

Head coach George Skivington said player movement was inevitable as the squad evolves.

“With a number of new faces joining us for next season, across the first team and a fresh academy intake, it’s inevitable that some players will be moving on at the end of this campaign.

“I’d like to thank every player who is leaving the Club for their commitment and contribution during their time at Kingsholm. They’ve all played their part, whether that’s across a number of seasons or during a shorter spell, and they leave with our very best wishes for the future.

“It’s always a difficult time saying goodbye, particularly to those who have been with us for several years, and I know our supporters will join us in thanking them for everything they’ve given in Cherry & White.”

Gloucester To Say Goodbye To Long-Serving Players

The Cherry & Whites will also bid farewell to four players who have each spent more than five seasons with the club. Matías Alemanno will depart after this weekend’s fixture, which could be his 100th Gloucester appearance if selected.

Kirill Gotovtsev will retire from professional rugby after making 87 appearances since joining in 2021. Cam Jordan will move to Newcastle Red Bulls this summer after 77 appearances, while academy graduate Jake Morris will leave after 54 first-team appearances.
