Brad Shields' move to Wasps next season puts him in England's radar

Hurricanes loose forward Brad Shields will be on the radar of England side as he is set to join the Aviva Premiership club Wasps next season.

The former New Zealand Under 20 international qualifies to play for the red rose team through his parents and will be hoping to use his stint with the Ricoh Arena outfit as a platform to impress head coach Eddie Jones.

Shields has been with Hurricanes since 2012 and will move to Wasps at the completion of the 2018 season of Super Rugby and Dai Young had high praises for the 26-year-old.

"Alongside his natural talent, Brad is recognised for his immense physicality and high work-rate," Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said.

"He has made a number of eye-catching performances, particularly at number eight, but his versatility to play at six will also be beneficial."

Shields captained the Hurricanes against the British and Irish Lions during the summer and was named in an All Blacks training squad in 2012.
