Wasps have been dealt another injury blow with prop Kieran Brookes set to miss eight to 12 weeks of action following an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old sustained the blow during the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership game against Bath Rugby at Ricoh Arena on Sunday where he played for just 17 minutes after coming as second half substitute.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young provided an update on Brookes' injury.

"Brookes hasn’t suffered a fracture but it was a syndesmosis [injury]," said Young to CoventryLive.

"But it’s a significant ankle injury that will put him out for months rather than weeks.

"They’re usually an eight or 12-week injury so we’re expecting that and it’s a massive blow for us.

"He’s been excellent for us and done really well. It just seems our luck at the minute."

Wasps are currently positioned fourth in the Gallagher Premiership table and will line up against Harlequins next on Saturday.
