Waratahs have been dealt a late blow ahead of the Super Rugby AU game Brumbies to be played at GIO Stadium on Saturday with centre Karmichael Hunt ruled out.

Hunt, who was named in the initial line-up announced on Thursday suffered a hamstring strain during the training and will be forced to miss the encounter.

As a result, Joey Walton will move to inside centre with Lalakai Foketi coming off the bench to take position in the midfield. Nick Malouf has been added to the replacement list and could make a possible debut for the club when he comes off the bench.

Waratahs currently are on a five-game losing streak to Brumbies and lost 23-24 when they met earlier in the tournament following Issak Fines's late try. They are currently at third position in the table with three wins from six games.
