Wales will miss the services of fullback Liam Williams for the remainder of the World Cup following an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old sustained the blow during a training session and now will miss the semi-final against South Africa and the final or bronze medal game to follow.

A statement released by the Welsh Rugby Union confirmed the news on Williams and revealed that no replacement has been named.

"Liam Williams has been ruled out for the remainder of the Rugby World Cup following an ankle injury sustained in an accidental collision during training," read the statement.

"His prognosis will be established in the forthcoming days. No replacement has been called up at this stage."

Williams has played 65 Tests including three for the British and Irish Lions and was a member of the 2015 World Cup squad of Wales as well.
