Ospreys' problems in the ongoing season has compounded after Wales international Justin Tipuric and George North were sidelined by injuries following their 25-18 win over Dragons in the recently concluded Pro14 game in Newport.

Tipuric left the field with an ankle injury in the 76th minute while North, who scored the opening try in the game was replaced in the closing stage of the game when he sustained a leg injury.

Ospreys forwards coach Carl Hogg said the extent of damage will be known after assessment.

"I don't have the clear diagnosis but don't think they are significant injuries," said Hogg.

The defeat against Dragons was also Ospreys' 11th consecutive loss this season and Hogg is hoping for a return from Alun Wyn Jones, who is sidelined with a groin injury for a change of fortune.

"We are hoping Alun Wyn will be fit shortly but we will wait and see," added Hogg.

"He is a world-class leader and probably in the critical moments in games we need that calming influence and I am sure Alun Wyn will be able to provide that to the group."

With nine defeats from 10 games, Ospreys are currently languishing at the bottom of Conference A while Ospreys are at the bottom of Pool 4 in the Challenge Cup after four straight defeats.
