Tommy Taylor will make a return to Sale Sharks ahead of the 2021/22 season after he was signed by the Gallagher Premiership.

The 29-year-old is currently part of Wasps and has played 80 games for the Ricoh Arena based club including 61 appearances in the Premiership.

He started playing for Macclesfield Rugby Club in Cheshire before joining Sale Sharks Academy and played 90 first-team appearances for them.

Taylor was selected for England during the clash against Barbarians in 2014 and was called up as an injury replacement for Jamie George during the 2016 Six Nations with his debut coming during the game against Wales - which also remains his only international game until now.

“After five great years at Wasps, I’m really happy to be returning home to the club where I began my career," he told the official website of the club.

"It’s really exciting to be returning home, to a club that’s both familiar, yet has developed substantially over the past few years.

"I’m excited to test myself in a new environment and I’ve no doubt that it’s the right decision both professionally and personally for me and my young family.”
