Former Scotland international Tim Swinson has come out of his retirement to join on a one-year deal with Saracens.

Swinson will feature for Mark McCall's club in the second tier competition Championship after they were face automatic relegation at the end of the ongoing season for a series of salary cap breaches.

The 33-year-old announced retirement from professional rugby in May after the ongoing season was disrupted by the pandemic coronavirus but when was approached by five time Premiership champions, Swinson decided to change his decision.

Swinson started his career with Newcastle Falcons in 2007 and after 89 Premiership appearances for them, he switched to Glasgow Warriors in 2012.

His debut for the Warriors came against Connacht in September 2012 and overall has made 136 appearances for them scoring 16 tries. Swinson also was part of the Glasgow squad that clinched the Pro12 title in the 2014/15 season.

His debut for Scotland came in 2013 and has gone on to make 38 international appearances for the Dark Blues including four games in the 2015 World Cup.
