Sale Sharks have confirmed that World Cup winning South African duo Faf de Klerk and Lood de Jager will be leaving the club at the end of the ongoing season.

De Klerk has racked up 95 appearances for the Sharks since joining them in 2017 from Lions having played for them since 2014. The 30-year-old has also racked up 241 points scoring 14 tries and 39 conversions in the process.

An injury sustained during South Africa's series against the British and Irish Lions sidelined de Klerk for the start of the season but since then has returned to make nine appearances for the club scoring a solitary try.

Meanwhile, de Jager has played 25 times for Sale Sharks scoring three tries apart from featuring in 53 Tests for the Springboks. He has played 10 times for Sale Sharks in the Premiership this season apart from another four games in the Heineken Champions Cup.

Sale Sharks are positioned sixth in the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from 21 games. They will also be facing Bristol Bears in the first leg of round of 16 clash in the Heineken Champions Cup at AJ Bell Stadium on 9th April.
