England captain Owen Farrell has suffered another injury setback as he has been ruled out of Saracens' upcoming Gallagher Premiership game against Sale Sharks due to a concussion.

The 30-year-old sustained a head injury during Saracens' previous round game against Bristol where he was replaced in the 70th minute. The game was also Farrell's comeback game in four months after an ankle surgery he sustained following the November series game against Australia kept him on the sidelines.

Even though Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall revealed after the game that Farrell passed the Head Injury Assessment, he is declared unfit for the game against Sale.

Farrell has featured for Saracens just six times this season.

A win for Saracens on Saturday will take them a step closer in securing the home play-off berth as they have 68 points from 19 games.

Meanwhile, Sale will be boosted by the return of England's Manu Tuilagi, who has recovered from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the recently concluded Six Nations campaign.
