Saracens winger Rotimi Segun has been ruled out for 12 weeks after sustaining a calf injury during the team’s European Champions Cup defeat to Castres Olympique.

The match, which ended in a 34-24 loss, marked Segun’s 100th appearance for the club.

Segun, who has scored two tries in 12 appearances this season, left the field in the 59th minute. His absence is a significant blow for Saracens as they prepare to face the Exeter Chiefs in their final Premiership match before the international break.

Saracens are also dealing with several other injury challenges:

  • Toby Knight: The flanker is set to undergo a consultation following a knee injury picked up during the same game against Castres.
  • Jamie George: The England hooker is being monitored for a “minor” hamstring issue. Despite this, he remains included in England’s squad for the upcoming Six Nations.
  • Nick Isiekwe: The second row is undergoing assessment for a rib injury sustained during recent play. He, too, is part of England’s Six Nations plans.
  • Lucio Cinti: The Argentina international centre is sidelined for six weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained in a defeat at Munster.

Updates on Long-Term Absentees

  • Andy Onyeama-Christie, who suffered a serious ankle injury in Saracens’ Premiership loss to Harlequins in October, is on track for a return before the end of the season. His recovery is progressing well, offering some positive news for the squad.

Currently sitting third in the Premiership table, Saracens trail leaders Bath by seven points. Despite their injury concerns, the team has advanced to the Champions Cup last 16, keeping hopes alive for a strong European campaign.
