Saracens have confirmed the signing of Irish hooker Eoghan Clarke on an 18-month contract from Munster Rugby, securing his services until the end of the 2025/26 season.

The 26-year-old joins the North London club to strengthen their front-row depth as they continue their domestic and European campaigns.

Born in Dublin, Clarke first entered the professional rugby scene through the Munster academy in 2018, where he also represented Shannon RFC in the All-Ireland League and featured for Munster A.

Seeking further opportunities, he moved to Jersey Reds in the RFU Championship, where he enjoyed a standout season.

He finished as top try scorer in England’s second-tier league in 2021/22, scoring 17 tries, and later played a pivotal role in helping Jersey Reds lift the Championship trophy in the following campaign.

After his success in England, Clarke returned to Munster, making his senior debut against Bayonne in the Investec Champions Cup before earning his first United Rugby Championship (URC) appearance against Leinster on St Stephen’s Day in 2023.

Clarke arrives at Saracens ahead of the resumption of the Premiership Cup, making him available for selection as early as this weekend’s fixtures.

Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall is pleased with the acquisition, highlighting Clarke’s strengths in key areas of the game.

"Eoghan has all of the attributes to be a real success here. His set piece is very strong, and we are looking forward to seeing him perform in a Saracens shirt."

Clarke, excited about his new challenge, sees Saracens as the ideal environment to develop further.

"It's a massive privilege for myself and my family to be a part of such a great club. I know this is a place where I will grow as a player and a person. I'm really looking forward to my time here!"
