Worcester Warriors have announced that USA hooker Joseph Taufete'e has signed a permanent contract with the Aviva Premiership club.

The 24-year-old was part of the Warriors in December when he signed a short-term deal but after impressing the club bosses during his short stint, he was offered a full-term contract.

Taufete'e has made nine appearances at the international level after making his debut for USA in the 2015 World Cup game against South Africa. He joined PRO Rugby team San Diego Breakers in 2016 before his stint with the Sixways outfit.

Worcester Warriors boss Gary Gold was impressed by Taufete'e's progress during his short stint with the club.

"Joe has grabbed his opportunity with both hands in the cup competitions and has been rewarded with a call-up to our Premiership squad.

"His work rate has been tremendous and in his handful of appearances so far, he has looked a real threat with ball in hand while impressing at the set-piece.

"Hopefully he will continue to develop in the current environment and we look forward to seeing how far he can progress with his game."

Taufete'e was delighted to extend his stay with Worcester Warriors.

"I've quickly warmed to life at Warriors where there are a great bunch of players," said Taufete'e.

"It's been great to get on the field and I'm looking forward to showing more of what I can do in the near future."

Meanwhile, Worcester Warriors fly-half Tiff Eden will exit the club to join Nottingham at the end of the current season.
