Crusaders will miss the services of All Blacks centre Jack Goodhue for the remainder of the 2021 season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Goodhue sustained the blow in the recently concluded Super Rugby Aotearoa game against Hurricanes which Crusaders went on to win 30-27 following a drop goal from David Havili in the extra time.

A statement released by Crusaders said the 25-year-old is set to undergo surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.

“Jack Goodhue has also had scans which have confirmed a significant knee injury, including an ACL rupture.

"He will require surgery, and is not expected to be available for any further rugby in 2021.”

The news will be a big blow to Crusaders, who already have Joe Moody on the sidelines following a toe injury.

Crusaders hold the top place in the Super Rugby Aotearoa table with five wins from six games and will face Chiefs in the eighth round at FMG Stadium Waikato on 17th April.
