Wales prop Rhys Carre will become the latest to leave Saracens after signing a deal with Cardiff Blues.

The 22-year-old had already played for the Blues between 2016 and 2019 following which he moved to Allianz Park in summer last year.

Carre will join the likes of Brad Barritt, Will Skelton, Ben Spencer and George Kruis to leave Saracens while Nick Isiekwe, Alex Lozowski and Nick Tompkins will also make an exit from the club on a loan stint after Mark McCall's side face automatic relegation at the end of the ongoing season for a series of salary cap breaches.

"It's great to sign for Cardiff Blues and I'm looking forward to getting back to the Arms Park and once again playing my part," said Carre to the official website of the club.

"I have enjoyed my time at Saracens and playing and training with a massively experienced and successful squad has been hugely beneficial.

"But Cardiff Blues are a team I am really passionate about - it is the team I supported as a kid, I came through the system here and I want to be part of we are building.

"I obviously know all the boys and it's a really exciting squad, which is only going to get better and there is a great culture throughout the organisation."

Carre has played eight Tests for Wales since his debut in August 2019 and featured in five games for them during the 2015 World Cup.
