Cardiff Rugby have confirmed the season-long loan signings of Bath duo Ioan Emanuel and Ieuan Davies from Bath Rugby.
The pair, both Welsh-qualified and coming through Bath’s ranks, will join Matt Sherratt’s squad next month and stay at the Arms Park for the upcoming campaign.
This move extends a growing partnership between Cardiff and Bath. Last season saw joint training initiatives and the short-term loan of Bath centre Louie Hennessey to Cardiff.
Sherratt said: “We’re pleased to welcome two exciting, young Welsh players for the season ahead and thank Bath for prioritising their development. Our strong relationship with Bath has allowed us to train together regularly.”
Emanuel, who began his journey in Cardiff’s age-grade setup, is the brother of former Wales U20 star, Stef Emanuel.
A former Wales U20 international, he offers stability in the front row with solid set-piece skills and a high work-rate. Davies, another former Wales U20 standout, brings speed and sharp decision-making from scrum-half.
Both players are expected to see substantial game time with the senior side and Cardiff RFC's Premiership team, providing critical depth across key positions.
Bath Head of Rugby Johann van Graan emphasised the value of giving young talent diverse playing opportunities.
“Cardiff offers a highly competitive environment and we look forward to seeing how Ioan and Ieuan develop before returning to Bath at season’s end.”
