Cardiff Rugby have confirmed that forward Ben Donnell will leave the club at the end of the 2025–26 season to join Ulster Rugby.
Donnell joined Cardiff on a short-term deal during the 2023–24 campaign and established himself as a regular squad member through his athleticism and physical presence.
Since arriving at the Arms Park, he has made 26 senior appearances and scored four tries across domestic and European competitions.
The 25-year-old is currently working his way back from a calf injury and is expected to return to action in the coming weeks as Cardiff enter the latter stages of the season.
Donnell said he is focused on finishing his time with the Blue and Blacks strongly and contributing on the field before his move.
“I am hugely grateful to the Cardiff Rugby coaches, players and supporters for the opportunity and backing they have given me over the past three years," he told the club's official website.
“I am working hard to get back out there soon and my full focus is on finishing the season strongly and giving everything I can to the group. I know there can be success for us this season.
“Looking further ahead, with my family roots in Belfast, it is an exciting next challenge but right now it is all about Cardiff and the rest of the season.”
