Premiership Rugby has confirmed a new two-year extension to its free-to-air broadcast partnership with ITV, ensuring continued live coverage of the league on terrestrial television.

Under the agreement, ITV will screen seven live matches per season, including the Gallagher PREM Rugby Final, across ITV1 and the ITVX streaming platform. The deal covers the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons, delivering a total of 14 live matches over the two-year period.

The extension continues a relationship that now moves into its fifth year, with Premiership Rugby maintaining a regular free-to-air presence alongside its pay-TV coverage. All matches shown on ITV will also be simulcast on TNT Sports, giving supporters multiple viewing options.

The partnership adds to ITV Sport’s rugby portfolio, which also includes coverage of the 2026 Guinness Men’s Six Nations Championship, with ITV set to broadcast all England matches during the tournament.

Last season’s Premiership Final, shown across ITV and TNT Sports, attracted a combined audience of around 1.3 million viewers, accounting for roughly one in six of all UK viewers at the time.

Premiership Rugby officials said the extension will help broaden the league’s reach and showcase its players to a wider national audience.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with ITV, which is now into its fifth year," said Ollie Lewis, Head of Broadcast for PREM Rugby.

“Giving fans of Gallagher PREM Rugby free-to-air access across the season, alongside the Six Nations, is the perfect blend to showcase the stars of our league to wider audiences.”
