Rebels 17-32 Bulls, AAMI Park
Handre Pollard contributed with 17 points as Bulls stunned Rebels with a 17-32 win in their Super Rugby face-off at AAMI Park on Friday.
The win has taken Bulls to the top of the South African Conference with 32 points while Rebels are at second place in the Australian Conference.
Rebels skipper Dane Haylett-Petty gave a clinical start to Rebels as he offloaded to Marika Koroibete for the opening try in the 8th minute and Quade Cooper slotted the conversion.
The Bulls gave a strong response with back to back tries from Cornal Hendricks and Pollard in the 11th and 17th minutes before Will Genia's touchdown in the 27th minute narrowed down the gap to two points by the end of the half hour mark.
As the break was approaching Pollard kicked his maiden penalty goal as the teams headed into the second half with a 12-17 scoreline.
The scores were levelled 17-17 with Koroibete dotting down in the 43rd minute but they could not find any more breakthroughs as Burger Odendaal (58') and Rosko Speckman (69') scored further tries allowing the South African side to complete a 15 point victory.
