Plymouth Albion have appointed 27 year old Iain Grieve, a summer signing from Bristol Rugby, as their match day captain for the coming season.

Back rower Grieve takes over the role from former Welsh international Rhys Oakley.

26 year old fly half Declan Cusack, who is about to start his third season at Brickfields, has been appointed club captain.

Irishman Cusack takes over the role from scrum half Ruairi Cushion who this season tales on a new role as player/coach.

Speaking about the appointments Albion head coach James Shanahan said, "Iain has a lot of experience of Championship rugby and he is a natural leader. When he talks everyone listens. When I talked to him about captaining the side he said it was an honour to be asked.

Shanahan added, "Declan playing at 10 is one of our leaders on the pitch and he is the natural choice to be club captain. As well as his role on the field he will be the ambassador for the club off the field.”
