Ospreys 17-13 Edinburgh, Swansea

George North starred with a double as Ospreys kick-started their Pro14 campaign with a 17-13 win over Edinburgh in Swansea on Friday.

The first half was equally competed with the both the teams struggling to get their first points on the board until the 31st minute when Simon Hickey kicked a penalty goal to get Edinburgh off the mark.

However, the response from Ospreys came a minute later when Luke Price kicked a penalty of his own as the teams went into the break with a 3-3 scoreline.

Hickey once again provided Edinburgh a three-point lead with his second penalty kick after the break but back to back tries from North in the 59th and 69th minute followed by Sam Davies' conversions that stretched the lead of the Welsh regional side to 17-6.

As the final five minutes kicked-off it looked like Ospreys were running away with the victory a 76th minute try from Blair Kinghorn gave a glimmer of hope to Edinburgh but they fell short by four points.

Ospreys are now positioned second in the Conference A behind Zebre, who went on to claim a bonus point win over Southern Kings on the opening day.
