Newcastle Falcons have announced that centre Max Wright has joined the club on a three-month loan from Bath Rugby.

Wright joined Bath from Yorkshire Carnegie in October 2017 but his debut was delayed following an ankle injury that required him to undergo three surgeries.

He eventually made his debut for the Recreation Ground based club in September 2018 and has gone on to play 36 times for the club.

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards feels Wright's inclusion will add more depth to the squad.

"Max is a very bright player who will give us valuable options in the centres," said Richards to the club's official website.

"It's no secret we have been a little short on numbers there due to injuries and international call-ups, and in a league as strong as the Gallagher Premiership you need that squad depth.

"Max is a talented player who has all the ability to fit into our system, and we're looking forward to working with him."

Newcastle Falcons are positioned seventh in the Gallagher Premiership table with a defeat and a victory apiece in the two games and will face Wasps next on 2nd October.
