Worcester Warriors lock Michael Fatialofa will be discharged from hospital for the firs time in five months after a serious neck injury that he sustained in January.

The 28-year-old sustained the blow during the Gallagher Premiership game against Saracens played at the start of the year and was forced to undergo a surgery at St Mary's Hospital to relieve pressure on his spinal cord and was later shifted to Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire.

Fatialofa's wife Tatiana on her social media account revealed that the New Zealand born lock will be discharged on Friday.

"My delightful husband is coming home tomorrow night," Fatialofa's wife Tatiana said on her Twitter account on Thursday. "5 MONTHS I've waited."

Fatialofa previously played for provincial sides Southland and Auckland before making his Super Rugby debut for Hurricanes in 2016. He joined Worcester Warriors in 2018 and has played 18 Premiership matches scoring a solitary try.
