McCaw Expecting Physical Contest

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw says he and his side are expecting this weekend's Rugby Championship clash against Argentina to be 'physical'.

Argentina were thrashed 73-13 by South Africa on the opening weekend before proving much more competitive in the return match, where they went down by 22 points to 17 in a vastly improved display.

Despite coming off the back of a brace of impressive victories over Australia, McCaw is taking nothing for granted.

"It's a physical game, you've got to bear up and there's ways of imposing yourself physically," McCaw said.

His opposite number Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe says his team will need to play a 'perfect' game to beat a side that he says could be the best the world has ever seen.

"We will need to have the perfect game tomorrow," he said. "Every detail has to be perfect and we're playing the best team probably, or maybe the best team in history, so we know the great challenge but I think the way to deal with this challenge is just to embrace them."

In 16 meetings between the two sides, Argentina have never won, the closest they came being a 21-21 draw in Buenos Aires in 1985.

Last year's matches in the Rugby Championship saw New Zealand come out on top, winning 21-5 in Wellington and running out 54-15 victors in La Plata.
