Exeter Chiefs 19-36 Harlequins, Sandy Park
Harlequins secured a convincing 36-19 bonus-point victory over Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park, handing the hosts their record losing streak in front of 12,000 spectators.
The visitors dominated, scoring five tries and climbing to fifth in the Gallagher Premiership table.
Harlequins came out aggressively, showing persistence in attack. They broke through Exeter's defense in the 14th minute when Will Evans set up Oscar Beard for the opening try making it 0-5.
However, Exeter responded quickly, as Ross Vintcent capitalized on a break by Henry Slade, scoring a try that Slade converted, giving Chiefs the lead making it 7-5.
Harlequins wasted no time in reclaiming the lead. Cadan Murley set up newcomer Rodrigo Isgro, who raced down the wing, dodged two defenders, and scored in the right corner.
Jarrod Evans added the conversion. Moments later, Will Evans spotted a gap in the Chiefs' defense and charged through to score under the posts, with Evans adding the extras to make it 7-19.
Exeter fought back with a try from Will Rigg, narrowing the score to 14-19 after another successful Slade conversion. A scrum penalty gave Harlequins a chance to end the first half with a five-point lead.
The second half began with Exeter looking for a third try, but Tyrone Green stopped Paul Brown-Bampoe with a crucial tackle. Harlequins then extended their lead when James Chisholm offloaded to Will Evans, who scored his second try of the match, securing the bonus point.
Exeter continued to battle, with Ben Hammersley crossing the line to close the gap to 19-26, but a penalty from Jarrod Evans extended Quins' lead to 19-29. In the dying minutes, Danny Care set up Murley for the final try, sealing the 36-19 win.
With this result, Harlequins climb to fifth in the Premiership, while Exeter’s struggles continue with their longest-ever losing streak.
