Auckland Blues have confirmed that winger Mark Telea has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

Telea will follow the likes of number eight Hoskins Sotutu, who recently committed his immediate future with the club.

The 23-year-old made his professional rugby debut with provincial side North Harbour in 2016 and went on to make his debut for Blues in the 2020 season.

Telea is also the the second Blues player after skipper Patrick Tuipulotu to have started in all 10 Super Rugby games this year that includes three in Aotearoa tournament.

“I used to go to watch the Blues with my brothers and now I have the chance to chase my dreams,” Telea told the official website of the club.

"Coming through North Harbour and with the Blues A team has made it easy to come here.

“The experience of my debut against the Chiefs, my first time playing in Johannesburg where Dad is from and playing in front of the full house at Eden were all special.

“For me is it about being the best I can be for the team and I excited to have the opportunity to continue to play for the Blues.”

Blues are positioned second in the Super Rugby Aotearoa with three wins from as many games and will face Crusaders next in the fifth round on 11th July.
