London Irish hooker Agustin Creevy has been handed a one-game ban following an incident in the recently concluded European Challenge Cup quarter-final game against Toulon last weekend.

The 37-year-old was sin-binned in the 36th minute during the clash for pulling Toulon lock Eben Etzebeth’s hair.

Creevy was cited by Citing commissioner Eugene Ryan and faced an independent disciplinary hearing. He was initially handed a two-week ban that was reduced by 50% taking into account his guilty plea, conduct during hearing and other mitigating factors.

"The (independent disciplinary) committee upheld the citing complaint, finding that Creevy had intentionally pulled Etzebeth’s hair in a manner that warranted a red card," read a statement from EPCR.

"It then determined that the offence was at the low-end of World Rugby’s sanctions, and two weeks was selected as the appropriate entry point.

"On the basis that the player accepted that he had committed an act of foul play and had a good disciplinary record, it was decided to grant the full 50 per cent mitigation and the committee therefore reduced the sanction by one week."

He will now miss Premiership Rugby Cup final between London Irish and Worcester next week.
