London Irish have confirmed that scrum-half Ben Meehan has made an exit from the club due to personal reasons.

A product of Reds Academy, Meehan made his club debut with Super Rugby side Melbourne Rebels and National Rugby Championship club Melbourne Rising. After making over 30 Super Rugby appearances, he made a switch to London Irish ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The 28-year-old went on to make 76 appearances for the Exiles including 43 Premiership games and is also qualified to play for England through grandparents from Yorkshire.

He had also represented Australia Under 20 side during the Junior World Championship in 2013 in France.

London Irish are at the sixth place in the Gallagher Premiership table with six wins from 17 games and will face Newcastle Falcons next at Kingston Park on 8th May.
