Leicester Tigers hooker Tom Youngs will appear before an independent disciplinary committee after he was cited for foul play following the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership clash against Wasps.

The 33-year-old was cited by independent citing commissioner Andy Blyth for striking Wasps lock Will Rowlands as contrary to law World Rugby Law 9.12.

As a result, Youngs will appear before a three-person independent disciplinary committee on Tuesday comprising of chair Jeremy Summers, Nick Garling along with another member, who is yet to be finalised.

If proved guilty, Youngs will face a suspension of two weeks for low range, six weeks for mid range while the high range sanction could see a suspension of about 10 weeks.

The 18-9 win over Wasps allowed Leicester Tigers to take their tally to 16 points after three victories from 10 games and will take on Sale Sharks next on Friday at AJ Bell Stadium.
