Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of Australian international forward Jed Holloway on a short-term contract.

The versatile forward, who can play both as a lock and in the back row, brings valuable experience with 12 caps for the Wallabies since his debut in 2022.

The 32-year-old forward departed the NSW Waratahs earlier this year after making over 100 appearances for his home state. He also had a brief stint with Munster and is set to join Major League Rugby’s San Diego Legion after his time with the Tigers.

Speaking about his move, Holloway expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity:

“It’s all happened very quickly, and I’m excited to be here. Leicester is obviously a very famous club, and when the opportunity came to join for this next couple of months,

"I jumped at it. Everyone’s been really welcoming so far, and I’m focused now on adding value to the team any way I can while I’m here.”

Leicester Tigers head coach Michael Cheika highlighted the importance of Holloway’s addition to the squad during a busy schedule:

“We’re really pleased to be able to bring in a player of Jed’s quality and experience for this next block of games. Coming out of the international window, we obviously have a few guys missing in that lock/back-row role and big games coming up in the league and Europe.

“Jed’s got the qualities in his game that we need, so adding him to the roster to help with the selection challenges we have is great. We welcomed him today and will quickly get him up to speed with what we’re doing.”
