Leicester Tigers have officially announced the contract renewal of lock Tom Manz.

Manz, a 23-year-old Leicestershire native, has been a lifelong supporter of the club. Progressing through the Tigers' development pathway, he has represented both the club and his country at various youth levels.

Since making his senior debut in 2022, Manz has accumulated 13 appearances, marking his Gallagher Premiership debut earlier this season.

His standout performance includes a starting role in the victory against Saracens and scoring his inaugural try in a Premiership Cup match against Nottingham.

Reflecting on his new contract, Manz expressed his enthusiasm: "I’m very excited to be staying at Tigers. It’s a privilege to play for the team I supported my whole life, and to do it with my brother as well is special.

"I have ticked off some big goals this season but I’m hungry to learn more and earn opportunities to play."

Leicester Tigers General Manager Richard Wilks also commented on the extension.

"It’s great to have Tom signed up. Tom has had an excellent season this year. He's a local lad who loves Tigers.

"He has the potential to kick on from here and be a great contributor to the club. We’re very pleased to have him locked in."

Manz's journey is a testament to perseverance. After not being selected for the academy initially, he dedicated himself to improving his skills, eventually earning a spot and contributing significantly to the team's success.
