The winners of club rugby's first silverware of the season will be decided on Friday - and the four teams taking part all have their eyes on glory.

Fighting it out will be Worcester Warriors, Leicester Tigers, Saracens, Newcastle Falcons, Harlequins and Gloucester Rugby in the final of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series after all qualified from the group stages.

Speaking from Bath Rugby's The Recreation Ground - which will host the final - those representing their clubs admitted their belief that success could be on the cards.

"I think with 7s you have got to have a good start to any tournament and any game," said Warriors' Richard de Carpentier, who will captain the side.

"I think if we can get a good start I think we will kick-off the night well.

"The boys will be flying in that first game so it is just fingers crossed we can carry on the momentum from last Thursday on Friday night."

His former Tigers team-mate Scott Steele, who will captain his side, added: "They always give the youngsters a chance and I have been involved in teams that haven't done that well at the J.P. Morgan 7s before," said Steele.

"Geordan Murphy (head 7s coach) came in and he explained to us there is no pressure on us this year, it is just young lads going out - play with a smile on your face and just work for each other.

"I think we have done that and it shows you can cause upsets no matter what."

Gloucester qualified behind the Warriors at their group stage on home territory at Kingsholm, but 7s captain Martyn Thomas is sure they can go all the way this time.

"I'm really looking forward to it and the team is as well," he said.

"We worked hard last week and have had a look back at the performances from Thursday night and we have taken the positives out of that and worked on them.

"Come Friday we will be very excited."

Newcastle Falcons won three out of three in the group stage at Northampton, and Warren Fury believes they have it in them to continue their perfect record.

He said: "It is good to start off the season with a piece of silverware.

"Sevens is a fun, enjoyable game and lets the boys enjoy themselves and that is the great thing about Newcastle we have a free licence to go and play and that is great."

Harlequins also won three out of three in the group stages, and centre Harry Sloan said: "Even in the group stages you are playing Premiership clubs so any 7s team is going to be brilliant," he said.

"They have got all the youngsters coming up so it is always going to be a fast game and you have to be aware of what is going on.

"All three competitions so far through to the final have been tough so we are going to have to up our game because all of the best teams have gone through, but we are confident."
