Connacht have confirmed the signing of Jarrad Butler ahead of the upcoming season of Pro 12.

The 25-year-old will make a shift from Super Rugby side Brumbies and has made 70 Super Rugby appearances overall having been part of Queensland Reds as well in 2012 and 2013.

Butler also represented Australia Under 20 team four times in 2010 and was selected for Barbarians in 2015 by Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika.

Butler, who is the seventh fresh signing of Connacht for the upcoming season said he is looking forward to the new challenge of competing in Pro 12 and European Rugby.

"I am extremely excited to be given this opportunity to join Connacht.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Brumbies, however this new set of challenges on the other side of the world is something that I can't wait to embrace.
