Connacht Rugby have confirmed the signing of Ireland international flanker Will Connors from Leinster ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 29-year-old has agreed a two-year contract and will join Stuart Lancaster’s squad as Connacht continue to strengthen their back-row options for future campaigns.

Connors made his senior Leinster debut in February 2018 against Edinburgh and went on to make more than 60 appearances for his home province. His Leinster career included involvement at the highest level of European competition, underlining his experience at club level.

At international level, Connors earned his Ireland debut during the 2020 Six Nations against Italy. He has since collected nine caps and scored three tries for the national side, establishing a reputation as a strong defensive operator with a high work rate.

Connors said he was grateful for his time at Leinster and is focused on finishing the current season strongly before making the move west.

“I’ve had a fantastic 9 seasons with Leinster, and am very grateful for all that was achieved in that time. I look forward to finishing the season strongly before making the move West in the summer and joining up with a really exciting and talented group".

Head coach Stuart Lancaster described Connors as a proven performer with strong tackling ability, defensive leadership and attacking potential, adding that he is expected to be a key contributor to Connacht’s development.

“I’ve seen Will’s ability first-hand and I know he’ll be another big asset to Connacht next season. His tackling ability and defensive work rate is well known, but he has real attacking strengths too which I am looking forward to developing.

"He also has a positive personality who brings great energy to the group and real potential as a leader. I’m sure he will thrive in the environment we are building here in Connacht.

"I’m delighted he has chosen to join us at Dexcom Stadium as we continue to evolve and grow the quality and competition in the squad.”
