Ulster have announced that Australia international Henry Speight has signed a short-term deal with the Pro14 club.
Speight, who recently signed a contract extension with Brumbies will be featuring for the Irish regional side until the end of the year before he returns for the 2019 Super Rugby season.
The 30-year-old has experience of playing in over 100 Super Rugby games for Brumbies and has represented Wallabies 19 times between 2014 and 2017. Even though he picked up an ankle injury at the end of the previous season, the 6ft 1in winger has passed the fitness test and has been declared available to play for Ulster.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to represent a big club like Ulster," said Speight.
"I've spoken to Christian (Lealiifano) a lot regarding this move and he had only great things to say about the staff, players, supporters and wider community, which welcomed him with open arms.
"This is a fresh challenge for me and I hope to embrace it by relishing every moment and by adding value to the group as best I can. I can't wait to arrive in Belfast and get to work with my new teammates."
Ulster will host Scarlets at Kingspan Stadium on 1st September in the opening game of the 2018/19 season of Pro14.
