Harlequins 41-35 Worcester Warriors, Twickenham Stoop
Scorecard

Harlequins bounced back from defeats in European Champions Cup with a 41-35 victory against Worcester Warriors in their Aviva Premiership face-off at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

The game which had Harlequins in the lead, for the most part, saw a late resurgence from Worcester Warriors go in vain as they continue to search for their first win in the competition.

Talented fly-half Marcus Smith set the proceedings for the Quins with a converted try in the third minute but the Warriors responded with back to back tries in the sixth and eighth minute from David Denton and Perry Humphreys respectively to claim a two point lead.

After Smith and his counterpart, Jono Lance exchanged penalties, Josh Adams crossed over for the visitors to stretch their lead to eight points which was brought down to one when Harlequins number eight Matthew Luamanu went past the line at the stroke of half time allowing Smith to slot the extras.

The Quins carry forwarded their momentum as they slotted three more tries - one each from Danny Care (44'), Jamie Roberts (54'), Charlie Walker (63'). Smith converted all the three tries while replacement Tim Swiel added a penalty to take the home side to 41 points.

Even though replacement Dean Hammond (65' and 74') scored a double and Jack Singleton followed it with a 77th minute touchdown, Worcester Warriors missed the final push to go past the Quins' tally as they succumbed to a six point defeat.
