Harlequins have secured the signing of Argentina international Guido Petti Pagadizábal ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The experienced lock, who has earned 87 caps for Los Pumas, will make the switch from the Top 14 to the Gallagher Premiership this summer, joining from Union Bordeaux-Bègles.
Known for his athleticism and versatility, the 30-year-old has been a key figure in both club and international rugby.
Since moving to Bordeaux in 2020 from the Jaguares, he has made 62 appearances, playing a crucial role in their journey to last season’s Top 14 Final.
Petti Pagadizábal, who is comfortable in both the second row and back row, brings a wealth of experience to Harlequins, having competed at the highest level for over a decade.
He has represented Argentina in three Rugby World Cups (2015, 2019, and 2023) and will now reunite with his fellow countryman Rodrigo Isgró, who has already made a strong impact at The Stoop this season.
The Argentine lock expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter in his career.
“I’m excited to join Harlequins next season – it’s a club with a lot of history and a new challenge in the Gallagher Premiership. Harlequins is an ambitious club with a strong squad, which I can’t wait to join.
"I’ve heard a lot about the fantastic support of the club and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the supporters at The Stoop.”
Harlequins Head Coach Danny Wilson praised the signing, emphasizing Petti Pagadizábal’s ability to enhance the squad.
“Guido is a brilliant addition to our squad heading into next season – his athleticism and ability at the lineout will strengthen our forward pack.
"Guido’s approaching 100 caps for Argentina, which showcases his quality and ability to perform at the top level of the game. He’ll also bring valuable leadership to the group, which is a huge asset. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the Club this summer.”
Petti Pagadizábal becomes Harlequins’ second confirmed signing for the 2025/26 season, following the announcement of Ireland international Kieran Treadwell last month.
