Glasgow Warriors confirmed that United States international Greg Peterson has extended his stay with the Pro12 club for additional two years.

The 25-year-old has played 12 Tests for USA between 2014 and 2016 and has scored a solitary try. He has also represented Australia Under-20 in the 2011 IRB Junior World Championship.

The 6 ft 8 in lock has also featured for the Super Rugby side Waratahs between 2012 and 2014 and switched to English Premiership club Leicester Tigers where he made a lone appearance in the Aviva Premiership.

His Glasgow Warriors debut came in 2015 and has played in 18 games since then.

Peterson said he is deeply motivated by his stay with Glasgow Warriors and is looking forward to contribute to its success.

"I've enjoyed my 18 months in Glasgow. The club, the supporters and the community have been great to me and I'm really happy to be staying.

"The culture and style of play here in Glasgow brings out the best in players and attracts the best players and coaches from around the world to the club.

"I remember watching the team win the Guinness PRO12 and getting excited by that and success is something I want to be a part of here."
