Scorecard

Gloucester climbed to the fourth position in the ongoing season of Gallagher Premiership following a 21-35 bonus point victory over Wasps at Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

This is the third win for the Cherry and Whites this season from six games as they now have narrowed down the gap over third placed Wasps by just one point.

Wasps entered the game with eight changes to the starting line-up and got the first points on the board in the third minute when Dan Robson raced through a gap in the ruck to dot down and Billy Searle converted it to take them to a 7-0 lead.

The visitors replied back when Cipriani and Ben Vellacott combined to send the scrum-half over the line in the 15th minute and eight minutes later Tom Hudson offloaded to Charlie Sharples for his side's second try. The Premiership player of the month for September Cipriani also kicked two apiece of conversions and penalties as the visitors ended the first half with a 7-20 lead.

Daly breached through Gloucester's defence and helped Wasps cut down the gap to six points with his 47th minute try that was improved by Searle.

Even though, Cipriani with his second penalty kick increased Gloucester's lead to nine points Juan de Jongh touched down in the 62nd minute and Searle followed it with the extras as Dai Young's men remained in contention after reducing the trail to just two points.

As the final 10 minutes kicked-off, all three possibilities was on the card but Gloucester sealed the decisive moment with tries from Sharples (71') and Lewis Ludlow (74') and Cipriani slotted the extras on the second occasion to complete a 21-35 victory.
