Scotland international hooker George Turner has agreed a move to Newcastle Red Bulls, joining the club from Harlequins at the end of the current season.
Turner brings significant international and domestic experience, having earned 50 caps for Scotland and scored 12 Test tries.
The hooker began his professional career with Edinburgh before spending the majority of his club rugby with Glasgow Warriors, where he established himself as a regular at both club and international level.
The 33-year-old has spent the 2024/25 season in Japan with Kobelco Steelers and is currently part of the Harlequins squad.
He has also been named in Scotland’s Six Nations squad, underlining his continued presence at international level ahead of the move to Tyneside.
Turner said the timing of the move appealed to him, citing the ambition surrounding the club and the opportunity to contribute to its next phase.
“It's a tremendously exciting time to be joining Newcastle Red Bulls with everything that's going on up there at the moment," he told the club's official website.
“I'm determined to contribute towards the club's growth as they look to kick on under the new ownership, and to be part of what looks like being a really competitive playing group.”
