Eight-try Ireland thrash Canada to bag resounding 52-21 victory

Ireland ran impressive eight tries against Canada to bag a resounding 52-21 victory at the Lansdowne Road on Saturday.

Fullback Tiernan O'Halloran (38', 78') scored a double while inside-centre Luke Marshall (22'), left-wing Keith Earls (6'), lock Ultan Dillane (59'), scrum-half Kieran Marmion (66') and replacement hooker James Tracy (81'+1) scored a try each. While match referee Marius van der Westhuizen awarded the hosts a penalty try on 45th minute.

Fly-half Paddy Jackson successfully slotted six conversions.

Right-wing DTH Van Der Merwe (24'), left-wing Taylor Paris (29') and fullback Matt Evans (57') scored tries for the visitors.

Scrum-half Gordon McRorie managed to add the extras for all three tries.

Canada ultimately fell 52-21 to Ireland, but it was a scrappy effort for the Canucks.

Canada will now travel to Stadionul Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest to face Romania while the Irish will host the All Blacks at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin next weekend.
