England coach Eddie Jones expressed satisfaction with his side's convincing 57-15 win over Six Nations rivals Ireland in the recently concluded World Cup warm-up game at Twickenham Stadium.

The red rose team entered the Saturday's encounter following a 13-6 defeat against Wales in Cardiff but with a number of first-choice players including skipper Owen Farrell returning, they came up with a dominating display scoring eight tries to complete a 42 point win.

Joe Cokanasiga scored a double while Elliot Daly, Manu Tuilagi, Maro Itoje, George Kruis, Tom Curry and Luke Cowan-Dickie crossed over once as they completely outplayed Joe Schmidt's side.

“I was pleased with the intensity and purpose we played with,” the coach told England Rugby as they now turn their attention to Italy next week.

“We went to play a certain way and we did that. We adapted a little bit to the game on the run and I thought the concentration levels were pretty good; we had a couple of lapses but got it back and that is what we are looking for in these games.

“The combination at 10-12-13 is just another good option. The reality is you need plenty of options at the World Cup and it’s another one. We are pleased with how it went but we have other combinations as well.

“We got good set-piece ball. It was pleasing to be able to move the ball about especially after last week, so it’s a nice way to prepare for the World Cup.”

England will get another opportunity against Italy in Newcastle on 6th October before they begin their World Cup campaign against Tonga in Sapporo on 22nd October.
