Sale Sharks have announced that England international Denny Solomona will be leaving the Gallagher Premiership club with immediate effect.

Solomona has been part of Sale Sharks since 2016 following his switch from rugby league to union and has scored 47 tries from 98 games for the club.

The 28-year-old signed a four-year contract extension with Sale Sharks in 2018 until the end of the ongoing season but now has decided to leave immediately after discussions with Sharks Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson and CEO Sid Sutton.

"I'd like to thank Denny for his efforts during my time at the club and wish him all the very best for the rest of his career and beyond," Sale director of rugby Alex Sanderson said.

Solomona has made five Test appearances for England that came in 2017 and 2018 and is now desiring to return to the southern hemisphere.

Sale Sharks are positioned eighth in the Gallagher Premiership table after managing three wins from eight matches. They will be facing Saracens next on 28th November.
