As Crusaders will lock horns with Jaguares in the final of the 2019 Super Rugby season, here is a statistical preview on the high-intensity clash that will be played at Orangetheory Stadium on Saturday.

  • Both the teams have topped their respective conference with Crusaders scoring 565 points in the season and Jaguares with 521 points. Crusaders have scored 81 tries in the tournament as compared to Jaguares with 67 touchdowns.

  • This will also be the third time these two teams will face each other in the history of Super Rugby with Crusaders winning the other two games.

  • Jaguares will face an uphill task on Saturday as they will be up against Crusaders, who have not lost a game at home soil in the last 30 Super Rugby matches.

  • This will be Crusaders' 14th appearance in a Super Rugby final and they have nine out of the previous 13 games. The second best side in terms of reaching the final is Brumbies, who have made just six appearances.

  • This will also be Jaguares' maiden final appearance and if they win it they will join the likes of Blues (1996), Crusaders (1998), Bulls (2007) and Reds (2011) to have clinched the title on their first attempt.

  • Only twice in the history of the tournament, an away team went on to win the Super Rugby final - both involving Crusaders - when they defeated Brumbies in 2000 and Lions in 2017.
