Chiefs ran a nine-try riot as they went on to trounce Sunwolves 10-61 in their Super Rugby encounter at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.

Tyler Ardron (3'), Brodie Retallick (11'), Nathan Harris (16') and Solomona Alaimalo (19') scored a try each in the first half with Damian McKenzie kicking the extras on all the four occasions as Chiefs scored 28 unanswered points.

Semisi Masirewa (35') and winger Hosea Saumaki (42') provided some respite for Sunwolves with a try apiece on either side of the break as they reduced the gap to 18 points.

However, Sunwolves could not quite capitalise on the momentum as McKenzie (44' and 64'), Alaimalo (52'), Liam Polwart (73') and Sean Wainui (77') scored second half tries. McKenzie also slotted four more conversions as Chiefs completed a 51 point victory.

Chiefs are at second in New Zealand Conference while Sunwolves languish at the bottom of Australian Group.
