Newcastle Red Bulls have confirmed that centre Cameron Hutchison has signed a new one-year contract to remain at Kingston Park for at least another season.

Cameron Hutchison Contract Extension Confirmed

Hutchison has made 34 appearances across his two spells with Newcastle and returned to the club earlier this season after beginning the campaign at Saracens.

Since coming back to the North East, the 27-year-old has become a useful option in midfield and another player retained as part of the team’s ongoing rebuild.

Sporting general manager Neil McIlroy said Hutchison has been a valuable member of the group since his return and described him as an important player for the coming season.

“Cameron re-joined us during the autumn and has been a valuable member of our squad," said McIlroy.

“He’s a direct runner who can help get us over the gain line, and we’re glad that he will be with us for this crucial season in our development as a group.”

Hutchison also said he is looking forward to staying on Tyneside and helping Newcastle build in what he expects to be a competitive environment with new players and staff arriving.

“I’m really looking forward to another year with the club.

“With a lot of people joining us it’s going to be a really competitive environment, and I’m looking forward to getting to know all the incoming players and staff and seeing what we can achieve.

“There’s a huge responsibility before then for the rest of this season, to create some memories and convert some of these improved performances into results.”
